Nov. 7, 2007 – Some of the best and brightest employees at Progressive’s Sacramento call center are giving back to their community today by helping to plant 70 large trees in Seymour Park. The event is part of The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies’ "70 Years, 70 Trees" celebration in which Progressive volunteers are planting 70 large trees in parks in each of its six call center cities. The types of trees being planted in Seymour Park today include the California Sycamore, Valley Oak, California Black Oak, Armstrong Maple, Chinese Pistache, Frontier Elm, and European Hackberry.
The approximately 30 volunteers who are planting trees today work at Progressive in various roles, including helping customers buy and service policies and report claims. The volunteers were chosen to participate in the event by their managers as a reward for their outstanding work.
Progressive is teaming up with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant the trees. The Arbor Day Foundation is committed to creating greener, healthier and more livable communities by planting and nurturing trees.
